Jakarta Provincial Government made an agreement with the Drug and Food Supervisory Agency (BPOM) on the Control of Pharmaceutical and Food.

By cooperating, we will able to prevent the fake drugs and illegal food in Jakarta

"By cooperating, we will able to prevent the fake drugs and illegal food in Jakarta. And we can give guarantee to the citizens that pharmaceutical and food supply in Jakarta is safe and listed," expressed Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama, after he witnessed a signing of agreement, at City Hall, Thursday (8/1).

He disclosed, to eradicate drugs and illegal food requires courage. Besides checking to the small traders, its distributors should also be checked.

Citizens Must Report Illegal Food and Drugs

"We must brave to do this. We must eradicate the distributor, instead of small traders. They are also deceived," he told.

Jakarta BPOM Head, Dewi Prawitasari added, in such agreement, various ways were set to minimize circulation of illegal drugs and food, such as recording of production businessman, pharmaceutical and food distribution.

"Then is follow up on sanction over supervision results on production, distribution of pharmaceutical and food," he finished.
